March 2025 is an awesome month to be in Corpus Christi for some fishing tournament excitement. The Saltwater Legend Series comes to a close in Corpus Christi at the end of March. This three-tournament series brings serious competition to Texas’ coastal waterways.
Teams of three compete for prizes including Heaviest Red Drum, Heaviest Trout, and Heavy Stringer. There is also a Calcutta with 100% of its fees going back to the top winners. Weigh-ins are daily at Doc’s Seafood, from 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm March 27th through the 29th.

June is a hot month in Corpus Christi, with fishing tournaments going on most, if not all, weekends. The annual Valero Reel It In for Kids fishing tournament happens every June. This fundraiser attracts hundreds of competitors who raise money for less fortunate children while staying cool on the water around Corpus Christi.
Coastal Bend Home Builders Association Fishing Tournament
The Coastal Bend Home Builders Association Fishing Tournament, Builders on the Bay, takes place Friday, June 20, through Saturday, June 21, 2025, at Doc’s Seafood & Steaks. In addition to teams, individual kayakers can get in on the tournament action with this one. There are side pots and a Calcutta to keep things interesting.
Salty Dog Tournament
Another great chance to hit the water in June is at the Salty Dog Fishing Tournament, which will take place on June 27-28, 2025, in Aransas Pass. This fun event has guided and non-guided categories. Anglers can compete in trout, redfish, stringer, flounder, black drum, and hardhead categories. There is also a Calcutta, with bidding on Friday. Teams must have a weight-in ticket before 4:00 pm on Saturday.
Laguna Madre Fishing Tournaments in Corpus Christi
Some of the hottest fishing tournaments in Corpus Christi are hosted by Laguna Madre Tournaments. Many area organizers are still finalizing their 2025 dates, but you can start to form your summer and fall plans based on dates from previous years.
The Laguna Madre Tournament Co typically has dates stretching straight through November, so be sure to check in with them for updates. That month features the Company D Texas Ranger Saltwater Classic Fishing Tournament and TroutaPalooza Tournament. May, June, and August are also hot months for this group.

Sharkathon comes to Corpus Christi every fall. The organizers of this massive fishing tournament have also taken on the responsibility of the annual Texas Shark Rodeo. Conducted over nine months every year, the Sharkathon has resulted in thousands of sharks being tagged for monitoring. The rodeo is in partnership with Texas A&M Harte Research Institute.

The Saltwater Angler Boat Expo Kids’ Fishing Tournament in Corpus Christi takes place the weekend of March 8 – 9. The tournament is open to kids aged 4 to 12. Rods and reels are provided by Roy’s Bait & Tackle Outfitters and Saltwater Anglers Magazine is giving away bait.

Ladies, should definitely head over to Aransas Pass for Hotties on the Harbor the first weekend of August. Based on Conn Brown Harbor, there are guided and non-guided entry options. Check-in happens Friday, August 1, 2025, with vendors, food, drinks, and an auction. Fishing takes place on Saturday, August 2, 2025, 30 minutes before sunrise, with weigh-in between 2:00 and 4:00 pm.
